The Susana de Moya Foundation hopes to support Dominican students in the Maryland/Washington DC area by providing an award as well as encouragement, mentors, and cultural enrichment activities. The essence of the award is to encourage students to remain in school up to completion of their Senior year in High School.

The Education Committee of the Susana de Moya Foundation is seeking applications for Susana de Moya Foundation Award to students in your school district whose families came from the Dominican Republic and are first  generation in the United States. The award, based on merit, ranges between $500 and $2500.  Students and their families share in the decision as to how the award will be disbursed according to a student’s need.  This would include but not be limited to the purchase of a computer, tuition, tutoring, taking a class, or escrow for college expenses upon graduation from high school.  The award is not a cash prize.

We invite all students from the Dominican Republic or whose parents were born in the Dominican Republic, who are currently in the 7th through 11th grade, to apply for our awards. Please refer to the criteria in the 2012 Award Application packets for more information.
