Scratch – 4 lesson series
August 13 @ 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm
This is a lesson series for beginners to coding concepts. We will be using the Scratch programming language in these lessons, which is a visual block based language. With parent permission, we will create a Scratch online account for each child. It is very easy to get started, but also very powerful and is used by millions of children and adults.
No prior experience is required, but Scratch does require some reading and math comprehension at approximately the mid to upper elementary level. The focus is on a fun initial coding experience and will include topics such as motion, costumes, sound, sensing and events.
This lesson series meets two hours for 4 Saturdays in August. Attendance at all 4 lessons is expected.
