WHAT WE OFFER
Free Technology Lessons & Digital Literacy Support
Patient, one-on-one, and self-paced instruction tailored to your goals. Completely free, with no hidden catches.
OUR APPROACH
We believe people learn technology best when they understand why something works, not just which buttons to press.
Every lesson emphasizes understanding rather than memorization. Instead of teaching someone how to complete one specific task, we help them build confidence that carries over to future devices, apps, and technologies. Our educational philosophy focuses on:
- Practical, real-world skills
- Plain language instead of technical jargon
- Patient, one-on-one instruction
- Building confidence through understanding
- Encouraging lifelong learning
Technology will continue to change. Confidence lasts much longer than any single device.
Technology Education and Support
What we offer
At SDM we help people learn to use their phones, tablets and computers, and troubleshoot issues with their devices and apps. We help clients build their basic computing skills, understand and use email and the cloud, fill out forms online, learn to search effectively, set up devices safely, and build and maintain websites, to name just a few of our topics. We do not do hardware repairs.
We try very hard to teach you how to do something, instead of doing it for you. Our philosophy is that you are responsible for your device, your content and the choices you make about how to use it. We are not job hunting specialists, web developers, graphic designers, or book editors. We will teach you what we know and what we have learned through our experience, but the decisions are all yours.
