The Mouse is your computers’ tiny sidekick. Without it, you wouldn’t be able to make anything happen! In the Windows world, the concept of ‘right click’ and ‘left click’ is everywhere. However, if you are a Mac user, there is no such thing as a ‘right click’. All the functions of the ‘right click’ are done in Mac OS by holding down the ‘Control’ button while clicking. Read on to learn the difference between left and right on your mouse!
Left vs Right click
The purpose of a ‘left click’ is to do something. Select a file, open an application, press a button…this list goes on! The ‘left click’ is the most common type of click.
The purpose of a ‘right click’ is to get more information or options. When you ‘right click’, a drop down menu usually appears. What is on this menu will depend on what you are clicking on, but common menu items include: ‘Save As”, “Open With”, “Back”, etc. A ‘right click’ is much less common.
Again, on a Mac, there is no such thing as right click vs left click. Instead, you will use ‘Click’ and ‘Control + Click’.
