Knowing how to view the Friends Feed on Facebook can be very helpful when you only want to see what your friends are posting.
As Facebook has so many ads and promoted content these days, this is a very helpful tool.
Facebook also has plans to make this Friends only feed accessible on the bottom tab of its app. Right now, the Friends tab at the bottom of the mobile app will display friend requests, suggested friends, and people who are currently your friends. Until the app updates, your Friends Feed will be accessed as described below.
How to access the feed
On the Mobile App
To access the feed on the mobile app click on the menu option on the bottom right of the app. Menu is also where your profile picture is displayed.
Your display may be slightly different, but the same items should be available.
From here select Feeds. After you are in the feeds section you will see five tabs up the top. Each of them will display that portion of your Facebook content. Your choices are All, Favorites, Friends, Groups, and Pages.
Select the Friends feed. Here you will see posts only from people who you have added as a friend. It will not show people you are following, groups or pages.
This won’t get rid of ads in between your friends posts, but it will not have sponsored content, or other creators ‘suggested’ by the Facebook algorithm.
On the Website
To access this feed on the website, the Feeds option is on the left sidebar.
After it is selected, the Friends tab will show up on the same left sidebar. Click on it and you will see the same feed you would see on the mobile app.
Facebook’s Future Plans
As mentioned earlier, Facebook has plans to make the Friends feed more accessible. As it is currently hidden away in Feeds, a lot of users do not know about it.
Facebook’s general idea is to make your experience feel more like it used to, when it was mainly a localized social network, and not such a global platform as it is today.
When this change is implemented, the Friends feed tab at the bottom of the mobile app will show your friend’s posts instead of lists of friend requests and suggested friends. The new Friends feed tab will also display birthday notifications and friend requests.
