What Is Bluetooth ? Tech Terms Explained

Bluetooth is a short-range wireless connection that lets your devices talk to each other without using the internet.
You use it when your phone connects to wireless earbuds, your smartwatch, or even your car’s speakers.
Turn off Bluetooth when you’re not using it, as this saves battery and can keep your devices more secure.

Why Bluetooth Matters

Bluetooth is part of many everyday tech tasks, including:

  • Playing music wirelessly
  • Connecting health or fitness trackers
  • Sending files between nearby devices
  • Talking on the phone without holding it

It’s convenient, but there are a few things to keep in mind.

Should You Turn It Off?

Yes! If you’re not actively using Bluetooth, it’s a good idea to switch it off.

Here’s why:

  • Saves battery life
  • Reduces security risks, especially in public areas, one big public IOT(internet of things) pool.
  • Prevents unwanted connections to nearby devices

How to turn Bluetooth off (or on)

On iPhone:

  • Open Settings
  • Tap Bluetooth
  • Toggle the switch on or off

On Android:
